What We Do

Founded in 2008, in Thalwil (near Zürich) Switzerland, focused firstly on executive search and some marketing advisory work for clients in Germany and Liechtenstein. Starting in 2009, ZAPFACTORY provided advisory to some small companies in Zürich, but mainly to Deloitte of London. We worked alongside the Deloitte partner teams in Newcastle (UK), Dortmund (Germany), Zürich (Switzerland) and Atlanta (USA). Four locations and four distinct clients, where advisory was focused around supply chain and procurement effectiveness & efficiency. Following some investments in property, ZAPFACTORY focused on rental return whilst returning to advisory with a renewed relationship as an Associate with Deloitte, backed up by a long term consultancy agreement with Ian`s full time employer (until mid 2013), LM Wind Power and relationship with its owner Doughty Hanson.
At present, our work is concentrated in Brasil, UK and Switzerland but we work wherever our clients need us. We have a significant base load of work with Deloitte and LM Wind Power, some short term assignments with smaller companies, but how can we help YOU also?

Covers most aspects of global business including buy-side and sell-side strategy, corporate strategy, organizational design, supply chain and sourcing, dispute resolution, marketing.

Also experience in M&A due diligence work and assisting negotiation teams to bring complex deals `home`. Ian has worked as an associate of Deloitte LLP (UK and Switzerland) specializing in supply chain and sourcing. He is on their list of people to call whenever they are involved in projects particularly chemical and plastics related. 

In the last 16 years, Ian has hired or worked alongside PwC, Bain, Roland Berger, IBM, Hackett, AT Kearney, Accenture, Marakon, so well understands that consultants needs to bring the combination of innovation and good implementation.

Both strategic marketing (positioning, marketing mix, channels to market, eStrategy) and tactical marketing (events, brand center, web, video, traditional advertising media). We guarantee not to produce ads with pics of your product in them. We are much more creative, subtle and attention grabbing. Most of the market research and copy writing is done by Kate.

We have extensive experience of buying, renting and schooling in the Greater Zürich area, Klosters/Davos and on the island of Mallorca, particularly South West. We offer 2 properties for long term rental (6 – 24 months) and 2 for short term rental (1-4 weeks). We can advise on where and what to buy, tax and cost implications and general lifestyle.

Our philosophy on where to buy property is simple: walking distance to public transport, shops, restaurants; where net immigration into the town is positive; where its easily rentable/sellable; where the kids want to visit!

Working as a partner of Borderless executive search (Brussels, Belgium), Kate was active with clients operating in the pharma, medical and soft commodities markets, mainly in North America and Europe. As one of BT`s pioneer young female senior managers in the 80`s, she gained her team management and hiring skills at an early age working in telecoms in central London.
